2 days in Palma de Mallorca: Best activities and places


If you come to Palma de Mallorca just for two days, here you have a guide of the bare activities that undoubtedly you cannot miss during your express stay. In this post, we have listed the most interesting places you need to visit in order to discover the essence of this enchanting and coastal city. 

DAY 1 

You can start your route having breakfast in one of the oldest bars of the city “Bar Bosch”, well-known because of its traditional “llonguets”. It is located in one of the most commercial areas of the city centre nearby the popular Passeig des Born. Then, you can walk across this wide tree-lined avenue bounded with exclusive boutiques until arrive to S’Hort del Rei, a garden that combines traditional Majorcan and Moorish elements. After walking through this garden, you will find Parc de la Mar, an urban park located in front of the sea nearby the Gothic style cathedral La Seu and the royal family’s palace La Almudaina  

Later on, you can visit La Llotja, the old building seat of the Majorcan merchants.La Llotja neighbourhood stands out due to its varied gastronomic offer, so you can have lunch in any of the restaurants that you will find there. After having lunch, you can enjoy the narrow and enigmatic streets of Palma walking until Plaça de Cort located in the heart of the city and where there is the city hall. Afterwards, you can visit Santa Eulàlia parish church and you can finish your trail having dinner in some of the restaurants located in Plaza Mayor, a nice square bounded by arches.


DAY 2 

You can start your second day having breakfast in one of the most traditional local of the city, Can Joan de S’aigo, where all kind of artisanal pastries are offered. Then, you can take a walk through Passeig Mallorca, a long stroll nearby Sa Riera torrent, until arrive to the modern and contemporary art museum Es Baluard. Then, you can go to Can Fontirroig garden, where you can find one of the few traces of Muslim architecture that remain in the city, the Turkish bath. After that, you can take a public bus in order to go to Bellver castle, located in a hill and surrounded by a huge forest where you can enjoy the panoramic view of Palma bay during the dusk. At the end of the day, you can enjoy a great dinner in Santa Catalina, one of the most fashionable neighbourhood of Palma city due to its modern bars and restaurants.
